Let’s face it; Cleveland has its hands tied.

 

They either re-sign LeBron and try to go for another championship with their core group in a very competitive Eastern Conference (as far as the playoffs go), or they watch their superstar walk away and drift into nothingness.

Cleveland without LeBron will be a boat without a captain, and also very incompetent sailors.

Unless…

 

They work out a sign-and-trade with the Dallas Mavericks.

The Mavericks are more than a dark horse in this year’s LeBron James sweepstakes.

They are a dark horse that actually provides Cleveland’s some breathing room to stay somewhat relevant and keep people in the stands.

Let’s explore this scenario…

 

The Dallas Mavericks can send a combination of Erick Dampier and his $13 million non-guaranteed contract, Caron Butler and his $12 million contract that expires next season, Jason Terry and his $12 million, and JJ Barea or Roddy B, each with a cheap contract.
