LeBron James Saga: Cleveland Dealt Blow When Tom Izzo Says No

The Detroit Free Press is reporting that a press conference will happen either Tuesday night or Wednesday morning, at which Michigan State's Tom Izzo will announce that he has turned down the Cleveland Cavaliers' offer to make him their head coach.

Fans in Chicago and New York should be thrilled.

Izzo was the clear favorite for the job in Cleveland, with both the MSU diploma on the wall in the owner's office in Cleveland and after receiving a relative vote of confidence from LeBron James. But Izzo returning to East Lansing is a huge blow to the Cavs hopes of keeping their superstar.

The Knicks already have their coach, Mike D'Antoni, and the Bulls recently hired Tom Thibodeau away from the Boston Celtics (to be announced after the Finals).

Both teams have consistency in their front offices, as the Bulls still have Gar Forman and John Paxson pulling the strings and the Knicks have Donny Walsh.

The Cavs fired Mike Brown, and then Danny Ferry "resigned" as GM. They have a new GM, but their top choice for head coach just said no.
