What Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Bill Russel, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Kobe Bryant and countless NBA hall-of-fame players share as a common link was the sheer desire to win a championship. It's questionable if the Cleveland Cavaliers forward, LeBron James, can stir up that same desire to win his first championship in 2010.

Gone are the days when critics called out the Cavaliers organization for not supplementing enough help for the 25-year-old to reach his ultimate goal of carrying the Larry O'Brien trophy. Gone are the days when critics called him "young and inexperienced". It's all vaporized, at the moment. It's up for James himself to come through and make it all transpire.

But perhaps there are other factors such as free agency, Jay-Z, attention, and fame that stand as an obstacle to the place he wants to be. It almost seems like he's in this game to have fun at pre-game introductions, to say "This is Lebron's team," and recruit high school and college players to his marketing realm. Perhaps it all started when he appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated and ESPN the Magazine at age 18.
