Lakers News: Latest Buzz Surrounding 2016 NBA Draft Plans

The 2016 NBA draft is just a couple of weeks away on June 23, and the Los Angeles Lakers will find themselves on the clock quickly with the second overall pick.

Should the Lakers stay put at No. 2, they will likely take either Brandon Ingram or Ben Simmons depending on who the Philadelphia 76ers peg with the top overall pick.

As Brad Turner of the Los Angeles Times reported, the Lakers will have Ingram in town for a workout this week:



But as we know, there are always surprises when it comes to the draft, and this year could be no different. The Sixers could decide they like Ingram better than Simmons and take the former Duke freshman first overall.

Would the Lakers then take Simmons? 

Unless something changes between now and the draft, they may not. Mike Bresnahan of the Los Angeles Times pointed out the Lakers have yet to meet with Simmons:
