After a rough night at Oklahoma City's Skirvin Hilton hotel this past weekend due to the presence of bed bugs in his room, Cleveland Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving received an apology from Hilton Hotels Tuesday night.
According to ESPN.com, the company released a statement in response to Irving's revelation that the bed bug situation was responsible for him being limited to just nine minutes in the Cavs' 115-92 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder Sunday: "The comfort of our guests is a top priority, and we are very sorry to hear about Mr. Irving's stay. Since bed bugs can be easily transmitted anywhere and are often lodged in luggage or on clothing, our hotel maintains high levels of vigilance and we perform regular inspections."
While the Cavaliers listed Irving's ailment as flu-like symptoms, he explained that bed bugs were actually to blame for a poor night's sleep and even some level of physical illness, per ESPN.com's Dave McMenamin:
