Kobe Bryant: Trying To Understand the Cult of Kobe

There are great players who personify excellence on and off the court. There are players who are great on the court, and then once they get off the court, things are not so great. There are players who are terrible on the court and terrible off of it.

Then, there is Kobe Bryant.

Has there ever been a player so great on the court (except in the last two minutes), and yet, every time he does anything, you just want to punch him because he is such a cry baby?

Take Sunday’s game against the Nuggets for example. There were some plays where he would swear he got fouled, but he wasn’t even touched. He’d fuss at the officials, look like he was about to cry, and after about three calls that he didn’t get, he finally slapped the floor and got a technical foul.

Sure, Laker fans will say that he got knocked down, but he fell down on his own. It is possible for a man to trip over his own feet, and Kobe Bryant obviously did that on this particular play.

Guess he was really upset that he didn’t get a call against himself.
