Kobe Bryant or Lebron James: Who’s the Better Brand?

The debate of who is better on the court—Kobe Bryant or Lebron James—has raged on for several years now. Only one thing is for certain: they are the two biggest names in the NBA globally. With this notoriety comes a myriad of endorsement possibilities, but who is the better brand and, ultimately, more marketable—Kobe or Lebron?

The two superstars have gone down a similar path. Both were first round draft picks out of high school, both have been the NBA‘s Most Valuable Player and both have endured their share of public scrutiny. However, one glaring difference is Kobe is a winner, as he has five NBA Championships, while Lebron has only played in the NBA Finals once and lost to the San Antonio Spurs.

Another major difference is that Lebron has never been in any legal hot water. For those who have forgotten, Kobe was charged with sexual assault in 2004. Although he was acquitted, the rape allegations definitely smeared Kobe’s name. Kobe lost sponsorship deals with Nutella and McDonald’s.
