Throughout the past couple of weeks, NBA headlines have been stacked from top to bottom about potential trade rumors floating around the league.

With the weekend just around the corner, we have some fresh new NBA news to start your Friday off and it doesn't involve... take a deep breath... Carmelo Anthony.

To start, the NBA All-Star starters were announced yesterday, and from the initial looks of it, fans got this one right, for the most part. That is, outside of Yao Ming being once again named as the Western Conference starting center. It has pretty much gotten to the point where we can all accept the fact that even when Yao Ming is retired (which could happen sooner than later), China natives will still find a way to make sure he secures his spot as the Western Conference's starting big man.

Despite rumors spreading like wildfire that he has aged and isn't the same player this season, L.A. Lakers guard Kobe Bryant was named a starter for the West and is the overall leading vote-getter.

This is the way it should be.
