The New York Knicks fired head coach Derek Fisher on Monday, replacing him with interim coach Kurt Rambis, per the team.

Luke Walton, Brian Shaw Among Targets to Be Next Head Coach Monday, Feb. 8 According to Brian Windhorst of ESPN, Brian Shaw and Luke Walton are the team's primary long-term targets to take over the position. Ken Berger of CBS Sports added more on the Walton front:

Walton, of course, took over for Steve Kerr while he was on leave to start the season, leading the team to a 39-4 record while winning Western Conference Coach of the Month honors for November.

Shaw, meanwhile, spent two years as the Denver Nuggets head coach, going 56-85 in that time. Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News reported, citing a source, that "Shaw says he'd love to take the Knicks job and would be a great fit alongside Phil Jackson."
