Knicks-Celtics: New York Puts Up Hard Fight, but Late Shots Fail To Fall

They were oh so close. Of course, they usually are. The Knicks have found so many ways to lose, and so many ways to break fans' spirits this season, that many of the New York faithful have lost count. 

Once again, the Knicks put up a solid effort, scoring 39 more points than last night's defeat to nearly beat the Celtics on the road. However, missed shots from recently traded House cost the Knicks big down in the final minutes; New York couldn't find their way to claw fully back after being down by single digits all of the second half. The final score was 110-106. 

What was a high-scoring game came down to a defensive battle in the fourth, as the Celtics had a 16-15 advantage in the final period. David Lee had the touch with 28 points and 15 rebounds. T-Mac was silent with his scoring, but added eight assists to his six points. Wilson Chandler had 19, and Sergio Rodriguez had his best game as a Knick with 18 points. 

However, the Celtics were more balanced; all their starters scored in double figures. Ray Allen led the squad with 24. Rajon Rondo had 16 assists.
