Klay Thompson Injury: Updates on Warriors Star’s Back and Return

Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson has suffered a back injury that will force him to miss some action.

Thompson Out Saturday vs. Nets Saturday, Nov. 13 Yahoo Sports' Marc Spears reported the news and added interim head coach Luke Walton has yet to name Thompson's replacement in the starting lineup.

However, Andre Iguodala, Brandon Rush and Leandro Barbosa figure to split the minutes at the 2 if Thompson misses an extended period of time.

A bastion of health for most of his career, Thompson has missed six regular-season games in his first four NBA seasons combined. His most notable injury came during the Warriors' 2015 playoff run, when he took a knee to the head from Trevor Ariza and suffered a concussion—an injury that did not cost him a single game. 

The Warriors would be fine without Thompson in the short term, as they've ascended past the point of needing to stock up on regular-season wins; the team's overarching goal is a repeat championship, so Golden State can be diligent when it comes to injuries.
