Keys to the Wolf Den: Ellington, Nicknames, and Having a Successful Year

The Minnesota Timberwolves have a nice weapon at their disposal that's not being fully utilized, and that's Wayne Ellington.

The former Tar Heel standing at 6'5'' has been providing the Wolves with some very consistent play over the last few games, and he's showing that he can put up numbers when given the time.

The Timberwolves roster as a whole struggle mightily from the field, and although as of late they have been getting better, it appears that they cannot win unless they are bringing pure energy for 48 minutes.

Wayne Ellington is doing just that.

Wayne Ellington's statline over the last 4 games: 9.25 PPG, 3.5 RPG, 1 APG and 0.5 SPG, shooting 44% from the 3-point line and 45% from the field.

Not shocking, I know.

But for the Wolves bench, it's a start to somewhere. It's in the manner in which Ellington get's his shots that impresses me.

He can shoot off the dribble, he can drive and finish, he can spot up, and he also has a vastly underrated athleticism to his game.
