Minnesota Timberwolves guard Kevin Martin will miss Monday's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers because of a wrist injury.

Martin Dealing with Sore Shooting Wrist Monday, Jan. 25 Martin, 32, played 14 minutes during Minnesota's victory Saturday over the Memphis Grizzlies, but Timberwolves PR confirmed the guard would not play Monday with a "sore right wrist."

In his third season with the Timberwolves, Martin has struggled with his shot all year. He's shooting 37.5 percent, including a disconcertingly low 36.4 percent mark from beyond the arc. The result has been a lost starting gig and varied playing time, with Martin receiving 40 minutes on some nights and in the teens on others.

Martin also suffered a wrist injury in December, but it did not cost him any games. Injury issues aren't anything new for Martin, however, as he's missed 10 or more games in all but three of his 11 previous NBA seasons.

The Timberwolves will likely rely more on Zach LaVine in the backup shooting guard role with Martin out of the lineup. His injury may also mean more time for Shabazz Muhammad, who has seen a marke ...
