Kevin Love Needs 8 More Rebounds to Reach 5,000 for Career

Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love comes out of the NBA's All-Star break needing just five more rebounds to reach 5,000 for his career, per Basketball-Reference.com's NBA Milestone Watch.

With 4,992 rebounds through just 416 appearances, Love is averaging a whopping 12 rebounds per game to this point in his impressive career.

While he's yet to really find his place with his new team, the 26-year-old forward is still averaging 10.4 boards per game this season, tying him with Detroit Pistons forward Greg Monroe for ninth place on the NBA leaderboard.

Of course, that number does represent a significant drop-off, as Love recorded 12.5 or more rebounds per game in each of his final four seasons with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

A total of 231 players have recorded 5,000 or more rebounds in the NBA, including 36 players who are technically still active, per Basketball-Reference.com.

Now in the seventh year of his career, Love will soon be the youngest active member of the league's 5,000-rebound club.
