Kevin Love Injury: Updates on Timberwolves Star’s Quad and Return

February 8th, 2014 by Joseph Zucker Leave a reply »

On the plus side, things couldn't get much worse for the Minnesota Timberwolves after it was announced Kevin Love suffered a left quad contusion, per Andy Greder of the St. Paul Pioneer Press:

The T-Wolves were already without the services of Nikola Pekovic, who injured his ankle near the end of January, and Kevin Martin, who broke his thumb, the team announced on Saturday.

There's no question, though, that Love is the biggest hit of them all. The 25-year-old leads the team with 25.6 points and 13.3 rebounds a game. Those numbers are good enough for fourth and second, respectively, in the NBA.

His PER of 27.4 is also tied for third-highest in the league.

Minnesota has been up and down all season, finding itself 5.5 games out of eighth place in the Western Conference. With Love, Martin and Pekovic out, the Timberwolves will struggle to close that gap.
