Kevin Garnett Joins Turner Sports as Special Contributor

While Kevin Garnett's illustrious NBA career is over, KG will stay close to the game this season as a special contributor for Turner Sports.

The network announced Friday that Garnett will make weekly appearances on TNT during the 2016-17 campaign as part of the channel's NBA coverage.

Garnett expressed excitement regarding his first big step after retirement: "I'm excited to join the Turner family. I've been a fan for a long time, so I'm thrilled that it's a reality now."

Ernie Johnson, Shaquille O'Neal, Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith of TNT's Inside the NBA welcomed KG to the team:



The 40-year-old superstar played 21 seasons in the NBA with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets.

He is a 15-time All-Star and won an elusive championship with the C's in 2007-08 alongside Paul Pierce and Ray Allen.

Garnett returned to Minnesota during the latter part of 2014-15 and for the 2015-16 season, but he decided to retire prior to the 2016-17 campaign.
