Kevin Garnett Injury: Updates on Timberwolves PF’s Knee and Return

Minnesota Timberwolves star Kevin Garnett is dealing with a knee injury and will not play in Monday's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Garnett Experiencing Soreness in Knee Monday, Jan. 25 Garnett started Minnesota's Saturday contest against the Memphis Grizzlies but only played nine minutes and sat out the second half. Timberwolves PR confirmed the big man would not suit up Monday because of the "sore right knee."

Garnett is clearly no longer the force at both ends of the court that he was during his peak seasons. That said, he's provided a stabilizing veteran influence in Minnesota as the team goes through a rebuild centering around the likes of Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns.

This season, Garnett is averaging 3.2 points and 3.9 rebounds in 14.6 minutes heading into Monday.
