Kevin Durant’s Mom to Get Own Lifetime Movie Called ‘The Real MVP’

Kevin Durant's mom, Wanda Pratt, has been known as "The Real MVP" ever since the Oklahoma City Thunder superstar dubbed her that during his emotional speech while accepting the NBA MVP award back in 2014.

Durant used part of his speech to talk about everything his mom did for him through the years. Now, Lifetime is going to go in-depth on the details by making a movie based on Pratt's life. The title of the film, The Real MVP: The Wanda Pratt Story, couldn't be more perfect.

Nearly two years later, The Real MVP is getting her own movie, with Durant confirming the news himself Wednesday afternoon:



According to Deadline's Denise Petski, the Lifetime original movie will "tell the true story of Pratt, a single mom who struggled and sacrificed to raise her two sons, Tony and Kevin." If you are hoping to see Durant and Pratt star in the film, you're out of luck. Actress Cassandra Freeman and actor Daniel Bellomy have been cast in the mother and son roles, respectively.
