Kevin Durant Video: Watch Oklahoma City Star Forget How Much Time Is on Clock

Kevin Durant is the victim of the newest viral buzz. In a game against the Dallas Mavericks last night, the Oklahoma City Thunder had put the game away with less than 20 seconds left in the fourth quarter.

As Durant received a pass from his teammate, he dribbled the ball near center court, along the sideline. Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle walked near him, and actually reached out to tip the ball out of Durant's hands. Thinking the coach wanted the ball, Durant turned to the opposite side and handed Carlisle the ball.

The problem? There was still time on the clock, about eight seconds. An official blew his whistle, and retrieved the ball. The odd thing: No foul was called, while another coach received a technical foul for interrupting play by standing on the court. The Thunder still won the game, but the weird, quirky incident is quickly becoming a hot trend on the web. 

In most cases, when the ball is advanced past half court, a player simply stands alone and dribbles, draining the last remaining few seconds off the clock.

Both coach Carlisle and Durant got a hearty laugh in the whole mess, and the commentators were treated ...
