Kevin Durant Injury Update: Thunder Star to Practice with Team USA in Las Vegas

Although Kevin Durant remains a good deal of time away from making a full return from foot surgery, the Oklahoma City Thunder star will at least make a cameo appearance for the United States at the national-team minicamp in Las Vegas.

Durant Not Expected to Play in Thursday's Showcase Monday, Aug. 10 When Durant was announced as a member of Team USA's 34-man squad ahead of this week's minicamp, most fans knew the 2013-14 MVP wouldn't have a very active role during camp. ESPN.com's Royce Young reported on Aug. 6 that Durant planned to sit out any on-court drills.

The 26-year-old still has no intention of taking part in the showcase exhibition Thursday, but he'll practice with the team in the two days prior to the event, per USA Today's Sam Amick.    

ESPN's Marc Stein later reported Carmelo Anthony will also join Durant on the practice floor.

Durant appeared in only 27 games last year while dealing with a foot injury. The problem started in October 2014 and never improved during the season, forcing Durant to have three separate procedures on his right foot, the last of which ended his season ...
