Kevin Durant Gifts Christmas Day Sneakers to Young Fan Who Recently Beat Cancer

Keaton Barron's start to the new year will be difficult to top.

The five-year-old Oklahoma City Thunder fan underwent his final round of chemotherapy on Dec. 27 of last year to be deemed cancer-free after a three-year battle with leukemia, per ESPN.com's David Purdum.

That was the first of three goals Barron outlined on a poster he brought along with him to Chesapeake Energy Arena on Monday night to watch the Thunder take on the Sacramento Kings, checked off just above the already completed "Plan trip to Disney."

The only box left unchecked? "Meet KD," a clever campaign to meet his favorite player that paid off.

At halftime, Kevin Durant helped the young fan check that final box, coming out to snap photos with him. Durant also gave Barron his game-worn Christmas Day sneakers, which should look great with his "KD is my Homeboy" shirt.
