Kevin Durant joined a loaded roster with the Golden State Warriors, but he doesn't expect to play a small role within the offense.
With training camp underway for the 2016-17 NBA season, his teammates want to make sure he is as aggressive as possible.
"That's why they wanted me here!" Durant said Thursday, per Ethan Sherwood Strauss of ESPN.com. "They want me to come out here and be myself. I'm not going to play timid or not step on anyone's toes, but I'm still going to be myself. Nobody's telling me I'm shooting too much. They want me to be myself out there."
According to Durant, Draymond Green called out the 2013-14 MVP for not being aggressive enough in practice, telling him to shoot more.
Durant's role was a major question when the 28-year-old forward surprisingly joined the Warriors as a free agent this summer. His new team won an NBA-record 73 regular-season games last year and features three All-NBA players, including Green, Klay Thompson and two-time reigning MVP Stephen Curry.
