Kenneth Faried Injury: Updates on Nuggets Star’s Ankle and Return

Once thought to be a crucial building block for the Denver Nuggets, Kenneth Faried has since become a bit of a divisive figure among Nuggets fans. Those hoping for a turnaround from the 25-year-old will have to wait a bit as he deals with a nagging ankle injury.

Faried Out vs. Warriors Sunday, Nov. 22According to Patrick Graham of the Associated Press, Darrell Arthur will start in place of Faried. 

After an encouraging rookie season, Faried has since largely underwhelmed on the court, with the exception of the 2014 FIBA World Cup. The expected jumps in the three seasons to follow never materialized.

This season, Faried has averaged 12.5 points and 9.1 rebounds while shooting 58 percent from the field. 

In 75 games last year, he averaged 12.6 points and 8.9 rebounds a game. Particularly concerning was his inability to score outside the restricted area, per NBA.com:
