Even "The Manimal" can be felled.

Kenneth Faried rolled his left ankle during the Denver Nuggets Dec. 21 game against the Los Angeles Clippers. The team announced he wouldn't return.

UPDATE: Kenneth Faried - rolled left ankle - will not return.

— Denver Nuggets (@denvernuggets) December 22, 2013 Coming into Saturday night, Faried was second on the team in rebounds (8.4). He's also fifth on the team in points (10.1).

With the relatively minor nature of the injury, it would seem as though Faried won't have to miss any serious time. He'll likely just need to stay off of it for a short time, and everything will be back to normal.

That would be a boost for Denver, as the 24-year-old is a major part of the Nuggets' frontcourt.

Following a slow start to the season, they can't afford to lose any key players. Denver is seventh in the Western Conference, but only one game ahead of the Golden State Warriors, who are in eighth.

The Nuggets have a day off before they play the Warriors, so Faried will have a little bit of time to rest that injured left ankle.
