Kendrick Perkins Injury: Updates on Pelicans C’s Pectoral and Recovery

The New Orleans Pelicans announced center Kendrick Perkins is out indefinitely with a right pectoral injury.

Continue for updates.

Perkins Expected to Miss 3 Months Friday, Nov. 6 Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski provided the update, which couldn't have come at a worse time for the sputtering Pelicans.

New Orleans was universally considered one of the Western Conference's brightest up-and-coming teams after capturing the No. 8 seed last season, but a shoddy start has dampened hopes considerably.

Following Friday's 121-115 loss to the Atlanta Hawks, the Pelicans are 0-5 due in large part to a lack of size alongside Anthony Davis. Not only is Perkins out until some time in 2016, but center Omer Asik has appeared in just one game due to a calf injury.

Considering the Pelicans entered Friday allowing opponents to shoot 62.2 percent inside of six feet, per NBA.com, they'll have a tough time defending the rim until Asik returns to the floor at full strength.
