Justin Zanik Hired by Bucks as GM-in-Waiting: Latest Contract Details, Reaction

The Milwaukee Bucks plan to hire Utah Jazz assistant general manager Justin Zanik to become the team's general manager-in waiting, according to The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Zanik will join Milwaukee in a similar capacity until eventually succeeding current Bucks general manager John Hammond, who has one year remaining on his contract.

ESPN.com's Marc Stein confirmed the news:



Wojnarowski also reported that Hammond was involved in the hiring process, but the timetable for when Zanik will take over is not yet known.

Stein reported on May 15 that Zanik and former Charlotte Bobcats president of basketball operations Rod Higgins were being considered for positions within the Milwaukee front office:



Zanik joined the Jazz in 2013 after nine years as a player agent. Zanik also appeared as a representative for Utah at the NBA draft lottery May 17.
