Jrue Holiday Injury: Updates on Pelicans Star’s Toe and Return

New Orleans Pelicans point guard Jrue Holiday is nursing a left toe injury and will miss at least one game as he recovers.

Holiday Out vs. Pacers Thursday, March 24 The Pelicans' official Twitter account confirmed Holiday will not be available on Thursday against Indiana. 

Holiday has established himself as an effective, well-rounded floor general for the Pelicans since arriving from the Philadelphia 76ers in a trade ahead of the 2013-14 campaign. Unfortunately, his impact has been limited at times due to injuries.

The 25-year-old UCLA product has battled consistent leg problems that played a major role in him missing 90 games over the last two years. In turn, the team implemented a plan of sitting him out in back-to-back games and limiting his minutes earlier this season to help keep him healthy.

If he's forced to spend more time on the sidelines, New Orleans will turn to the capable Toney Douglas as the team's primary floor general, as Norris Cole is also out with a back injury.
