Denver Nuggets guard J.R. Smith had, perhaps, the dunk of the year Thursday against the San Antonio Spurs.

He not only did he jump from an impressive distance, he got some serious, serious hangtime, lighting up the Denver Nuggets crowd in the process.

Spurs guard Gary Neal, who tried to take a block on the play, will probably never be the same again.

Fitting that the call was, "We just saw a man fly!"

Because that's what we just saw folks.

After soaring over Gary Neal, Smith hung on the rim to add some style points to the dunk.

Will this keep Carmelo Anthony in Denver, perhaps? He gave a nod to J.R. Smith on the play. You expect that to come from Carmelo, not J.R.

You see a dunk like that, you kinda wanna stick around to see if it happens again.

J.R. Smith is averaging 11.4 points, four rebounds, 1.6 threes and 1.1 steals a game this season, in about 22 minutes per game.

Shooting just 40 percent from the field, I'm guessing he's going to try to start doing this more often.

The Nuggets are currently in a close game with the Spurs.
