A bad night got worse for the Atlanta Hawks, as Josh Smith injured his left knee while the team was in the process of losing to the Rajon Rondo-less Boston Celtics on Tuesday night, 87-80.
The series is now tied at one and headed back to Boston.

Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Smith is headed for an MRI.
Smith will have an MRI exam on Wednesday in Atlanta.

The Hawks are certainly going to take all precautions necessary with their star. And hopefully this is just a matter of that. Although, it is always a nervous time when an athlete's knee is headed towards the MRI machine.

Smith was not having his best game. He was just 8-21 from the field with 16 points. He did pull down 12 boards, though.
