New York Knicks point guard Jose Calderon is dealing with a quadriceps injury that could force him to miss the majority of the Knicks' remaining games this season.

Latest on Calderon's Timeline for Return Friday, April 1 The Knicks PR team announced Calderon has a deep contusion and will miss an extended period of time.

Calderon has continued to play an extensive role for the Knicks this season despite lackluster overall numbers. He's a pass-first guard who's been unable to find a consistent comfort zone with Carmelo Anthony controlling the ball so frequently at the offensive end.

Things have been more positive on the injury front, though. He missed nearly half of last season due to a calf injury early on and then an Achilles problem late in the year. He did battle another calf issue during the current campaign, but he's remained mostly healthy.

If he's forced out of the lineup, Langston Galloway and Jerian Grant should both see an uptick in playing time at point guard. Anthony figures to receive an expanded role in terms of helping to run the offense in the meantime, as well.< ...
