Jordan Farmar Waived by Kings: Latest Comments and Reaction

The Sacramento Kings released veteran guard Jordan Farmar on Monday, according to NBA.com.

Farmar, 29, has appeared in two games for the Kings this season, averaging 6.0 points and 4.5 assists per contest.

Farmar was cut by the Kings in late October as well after spending the preseason with the team, though he signed with them again on Nov. 2. But with Darren Collison returning from his eight-game suspension and eligible to play Tuesday, the Kings needed to clear a roster spot for the point guard, making Farmar expendable.

Farmar has bounced around the NBA in his nine-year career, appearing in games for the Los Angeles Lakers (two separate stints), the then-New Jersey Nets, the Los Angeles Clippers, the Memphis Grizzlies and the Kings.

He was at his best in the 2013-14 season with the Lakers, appearing in 41 games and averaging 10.1 points and 4.9 assists per contest. While he isn't a starting-caliber player, he remains a nice option for teams looking to fill out their bench with a veteran presence at point guard.
