John Wall and Dion Waiters Get in War of Words over Who Has Best Backcourt

September 30th, 2014 by Kyle Newport Leave a reply »

The Cleveland Cavaliers and Washington Wizards don't have much of a rivalry right now, but one could be budding before our very eyes.

A preseason war of words started innocently enough when Wizards guard Bradley Beal told reporters Monday that he and teammate John Wall are "definitely the best backcourt in the league."

Cleveland's Dion Waiters isn't buying that.

Waiters responded to Beal's claim after practice on Tuesday. "That's nonsense. [Beal is] supposed to say that, but I know deep down, he's not messing with me and Ky [Kyrie Irving]. I think me and Ky are the best backcourt, young backcourt. That's all," he said.

After the Cavaliers guard fired back at Beal's comment, Hoop District's Abdullah Sharif reported that Wall stepped up and took some shots at Waiters:

It looks like it's Irving's turn to speak up.
