Joel Embiid Injury: Updates on 76ers Center’s Recovery from Foot Surgery

Joel Embiid's seemingly never-ending quest to get on the court for the Philadelphia 76ers is taking another step this week as he begins the next part of his rehabilitation plan for a foot injury.

Embiid Attempting On-Court Work in Los AngelesSaturday, Jan. 2Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer reported that Sixers head coach Brett Brown said the center is doing both on-court and off-court work during a short stay out West.

"It's all part of that rehab and that plan and path that he is on with David Martin, one of the world's recognized sports scientists," Brown said. "He's created a plan and path. The number of people around Joel Embiid is massive. We really are leaving no stone unturned with trying to get him to return to play."

The report noted that the post player was seen doing some agility work after a team shootaround. Brown stated he's being "closely monitored" every step of the way.
