Brooklyn Nets wing Joe Johnson reportedly will not seek a buyout from the team, increasing the chances he stays put this season, per ESPN.com's Marc Stein.

Multiple Factors Leading to Johnson's Decision Monday, Jan. 11 Johnson, who is averaging just 11.1 points per game this season, is making $24.8 million, which Stein said is the main reason the team won't be able to trade the 34-year-old this year.

The 10-27 Nets have other issues that play into Johnson's situation as well, per Stein:



Johnson appeared in six straight All-Star Games from 2007 to 2012, but his scoring has regressed in each of the past four seasons. Though he is past his prime, his veteran presence, and the fact that he can still light up the scoreboard from time to time, should attract suitors when he becomes an unrestricted free agent after the season.
