A foot injury cost guard Jodie Meeks the majority of the 2015-16 season, and it could cause him to miss time in 2016-17 as well.

Meeks Out Indefinitely After Foot Surgery Tuesday, July 19 According to Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel, the 28-year-old veteran underwent surgery on the fifth metatarsal in his right foot Tuesday after previously fracturing that bone early last season while with the Detroit Pistons.

Meeks played in just three regular-season games for the Pistons last season, averaging 7.3 points per contest. He also appeared in one of their four playoff games.

The former Kentucky standout is set to enter his eighth NBA season after stints with the Milwaukee Bucks, Philadelphia 76ers, Los Angeles Lakers and Pistons.

He has averaged 9.9 points per game during a career split almost evenly between starting and coming off the bench. He is also a capable three-point shooter with a 37.3 percent success rate from downtown as an NBA player.
