Joakim Noah Out 8-10 Weeks Makes Taj Gibson an Immediate Fantasy Pickup

With Joakim Noah out with a thumb injury until March, Taj Gibson becomes an immediate fantasy pickup.

While Carlos Boozer was injured to start the year, Gibson started 14 games and averaged 11.3 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.5 blocks, and 0.9 steals per game, while shooting 51 percent from the field.

Noah will be missed, but fortunately for the Bulls, the rest of December offers an extremely easy schedule, with the Knicks being the best team.  The Clippers, 76ers, Wizards, Pistons, Bucks and Nets are great matchups for Gibson.

The January schedule is also very appealing with only three Western Conference games and two games versus the top Eastern Conference teams (Orlando and  Boston).

Gibson gives the Bulls a much smaller lineup, meaning Kurt Thomas or Omar Asik could start against bigger lineups (e.g. Dwight Howard in Orlando or Shaq in Boston).

But regardless of whether or not he starts against bigger teams, Taj should get the bulk of minutes as it allows the Bulls to continue to run the Derrick Rose fast-paced offense.
