Joakim Noah Injury: Updates on Knicks Star’s Hamstring and Return

New York Knicks center Joakim Noah is nursing a hamstring injury that will force him to miss at least one exhibition game.

Noah Out Tuesday vs. Rockets Tuesday, Oct. 4 ESPN.com's Ian Begley relayed the update. 

The Knicks' public relations department tweeted on Monday that Noah was absent from practice, so his inability to suit up against the Rockets is not terribly surprising. 

"I want to feel it out and see how it feels [Tuesday]," Noah said after practice on Monday, according to the New York Post's Marc Berman. 

With Noah banged up, the Knicks figure to give Kyle O'Quinn, Guillermo Hernangomez and rookie Marshall Plumlee extra minutes at center in the preseason opener. 

If Noah's injury—which is minor, by all accounts—forces him to miss extended action, head coach Jeff Hornacek could also opt to slot Kristaps Porzingis in at center and slide Carmelo Anthony up to the 4 to give his team some additional flexibility on the perimeter.
