Jimmer Fredette to Westchester Knicks: Latest Contract Details and Reaction

Jimmer Fredette's roller-coaster season continued Saturday, as the NBA Development League's Westchester Knicks announced the signing of the former BYU superstar.

ESPN's Ian Begley was the first to report the news. Per Jarom Jordan of BYUtv, Fredette is expected to be available when Westchester plays the Grand Rapids Drive on Monday.

The San Antonio Spurs waived the 26-year-old guard just prior to the start of the regular season in October. He was subsequently selected with the No. 2 overall pick in the NBA D-League draft by Westchester.

Fredette was signed by the New Orleans Pelicans shortly thereafter with a hardship exemption due to the myriad of injuries the Pelicans were dealing with. He played just 13 minutes and scored two points in four games with New Orleans before he was waived once again.

Fredette played in 50 games last season for the Pels, but he averaged just 3.6 points and 1.2 assists per contest.

The 2011 National College Player of the Year was the No. 10 overall selection in the 2011 NBA draft by the Sacramento Kings, but he never truly found his footing as a professional.
