Jerryd Bayless Injury: Updates on Bucks Guard’s Ankle and Return

Milwaukee Bucks guard Jerryd Bayless is nursing a sprained ankle after coming up gimpy against the Detroit Pistons on Friday night.

Bayless Ruled Out for Remainder of Game Friday, Dec. 4 Charles F. Gardner of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel provided the update, citing Bucks public relations.

Milwaukee can't afford any more injuries at point guard: Greivis Vasquez missed Friday's game after suffering an ankle injury of his own, and second-year man Tyler Ennis sat out because of left shoulder soreness.

Bayless did not play Wednesday against the San Antonio Spurs, but he started Friday as a result of Michael Carter-Williams' demotion to the bench.

In 18 games entering Friday night, Bayless was averaging 11.8 points and 3.7 assists while shooting 42.4 percent from the field and 44.9 percent from three-point range.

The 27-year-old has also offered a veteran presence at shooting guard. According to Basketball-Reference.com, Bayless has played shooting guard 67 percent of the time and operated as a floor general during 19 percent of his minutes.
