Jerry West Seeking Return to NBA

After retiring as Memphis Grizzlies general manager in 2007, Jerry West could soon return to a front office role in the NBA.

According to the Association's website, West is open to accepting a reduced role for an NBA franchise.

"The Logo" was close to joining the Golden State Warriors front office when friend and business magnate Larry Ellison was bidding for the franchise, which was put up for sale this summer. Ellison, who is the co-founder of Oracle Corporation, the sponsor of Golden State's homecourt, was eventually outbid by Peter Gruber and Joe Lacob.

Soon after Ellison's failed purchase of the Warriors, West's negotiations with the organization came to a halt.

The 1972 NBA Champion's desire to return the league has not been deterred by that situation though.

"If there were an opportunity that I considered attractive, and obviously working with the right people would be very, very important, I could have an interest.
