Jerian Grant Wins MVP for 2016 Las Vegas NBA Summer League Championship

Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Tyus Jones claimed the MVP award for the Las Vegas Summer League on Sunday, but Jerian Grant got the last laugh in the Chicago Bulls' 84-82 overtime win over Minnesota on Monday.

He earned MVP honors for the summer-league championship game, per Sam Smith of the Bulls' official website. The point guard finished with a double-double, recording 24 points and 10 rebounds.

Grant's performance and the Bulls' summer-league title will have fans more optimistic ahead of the 2016-17 season.

Following the Bulls' July 10 win over the Philadelphia 76ers, Grant noted he feels more comfortable heading into his second year in the NBA, per the Chicago Tribune's K.C. Johnson.

"It was definitely tough. The inconsistency with minutes affected my confidence," he said. "I struggled because of that. I'm coming into this season with a lot of confidence, especially after starting at the end of last year and playing well. I'm excited for this new opportunity."
