Jeremy Lin: Why His Surgically Repaired Knee Will Devastate the Rockets Offense

This upcoming NBA season, Jeremy Lin will do all he can to make sure Linsanity makes an epic return—this time for the Houston Rockets. Lin’s knee, however, could make this resurgence next to impossible.

According to Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle, Lin is having issues recovering from knee surgery. “My speed and my explosiveness and my agility (are not) there yet,” Lin said. “I’m still trying to recover from knee surgery and get to where I was pre-surgery."

Unless Lin miraculously recovers before the season starts, his offensive game is going to suffer, as will the entire Rockets' offense.

Lin was so good last season largely because of his dribble penetration, driving ability and spin move. All of these aspects of his game are going to suffer as a result of his knee setback.

­Furthermore, these abilities forced defenders to give Lin open space on the perimeter. This created open jump shots and opportunities to dish the ball to teammates.
