Jeremy Lin to Play in Steve Nash’s Soccer Tournament in LA on Sunday

Dwight Howard's new teammate Jeremy Lin and his old teammate Steve Nash will be in competition on Sunday, only instead of a basketball they'll be knocking around a soccer ball in Los Angeles.

Hopefully they're pitted on separate teams so we can draw out some bogus story line about it being the first matchup of the former and current roll halves of the Howard pick-and-roll combination.



In the end all it will be is a fun, friendly game of soccer between two teams that will raise some money for a nice charity. Oh, and hopefully there's plenty of overreaction to every single goal as well.

This will be the second leg of The Steve Nash Foundation's Showdown, featuring NBA players out of their element, playing some soccer in an urban setting.

If you recall, the first time around the showdown came in New York City, Joakim Noah put on a performance for the ages and absolutely went nuts after scoring the game-winning goal to give his team the 8-7 win.
