Charlotte Hornets guard Jeremy Lin suffered an ankle injury Wednesday against the Utah Jazz.

Continue for updates.

Lin Ruled Out for Remainder of Game Wednesday, Jan. 27 Lin, who is with his fifth team in six years, left the game after scoring four points in 17 minutes. The team confirmed he would not return on Twitter and deemed the injury a right ankle sprain. The 27-year-old started 170 of his first 291 career games before coming to Charlotte but has come off the bench most of this season.

Despite that, Lin was enjoying his time in Charlotte prior to the injury, according to Mike Bresnahan of the L.A. Times. "I have a lot of people saying, 'Man, you're smiling a lot more on the court.' I am having fun out here.”

The former Harvard Crimson guard was averaging 12.7 points and 3.3 assists this season coming into Wednesday's contest after scoring 11.2 points and dishing out 4.2 assist per game last year for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Brian Roberts could see an increased role backing up starting point guard Kemba Walker should Lin miss an extended period of time.
