Jeff Green Injury: Updates on Grizzlies Star’s Back and Return

The Memphis Grizzlies picked up some much-needed scoring punch from the wing when they traded for Jeff Green, but they may have to find out how difficult life is without him given his latest setback.

Green Leaves Game vs. Wizards Saturday, April 4 Jorge Castillo of The Washington Post reported that Green had been ruled out with back spasms.

The Grizzlies have one of the best trios of players in the league with point guard Mike Conley Jr. and big men Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph, but Green gives them some length and offensive firepower on the wing. He can hit from three-point range and attack the rim off the bounce. He has also averaged double-digit scoring every season of his career.

Memphis has been near the top of the loaded Western Conference standings for the majority of the season, but it will need to be close to full health if it hopes to navigate the playoffs and challenge for a title. The West is loaded, and there are a handful of teams in the Eastern Conference that could also push the Grizzlies.

Green is critical to his team’s championship hopes.
