The future doesn't exactly look bright for the Los Angeles Clippers. They're without a center at the moment and have little financial wiggle room with which to pursue a suitable replacement. In order to open up some cap space, they may attempt to offload some of their attractive assets, in particular Jamal Crawford.

Crawford Could be Trade Bait as Clips Target a Center

Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders reported the Clippers could make Crawford available to the highest bidder in order to get the flexibility necessary to try and fill the void left by DeAndre Jordan. ESPN.com's Marc Stein and Tim MacMahon reported Jordan will sign a max deal with the Dallas Mavericks.
Los Angeles not only lost Jordan but also traded away Spencer Hawes a few weeks ago, leaving exactly zero centers on the roster.
The franchise must do something to resolve the issue, and dealing Crawford would make sense. Trading for Lance Stephenson causes a bit of a logjam at the 2-guard, so removing Crawford from the equation would kill two birds with one stone.
