Isaiah Thomas Injury: Updates on Kings Guard’s Wrist and Return

It hasn’t been a banner year for the Sacramento Kings, and things may be getting worse.

Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports provides the latest update on guard Isaiah Thomas:

Thomas has been one of the few bright spots for the 18-35 Kings this season, so losing him could hurt in the short term. He is averaging better than 20 points and six assists a game.

Considering the Kings are battling with the Los Angeles Lakers for the designation of worst record in the Western Conference, don’t be surprised if Thomas sits for the foreseeable future until he is fully recovered.

Looking forward, it wouldn’t be worth further injuring the young guard’s wrist for the sake of competing in meaningless games down the stretch of this season. Assuming the Kings are looking to build a young and talented core around DeMarcus Cousins, having Thomas as a part of that would be in the team's best interest.
