Is Rudy Fernandez Really Going to Europe?

A Spanish news site called Marca reported that Rudy Fernandez has signed with the European basketball team Real Madrid.

The report claimed that he had been signed by Real Madrid for three seasons at $2.8 million a year.

It also said that Rudy looks forward to being a cornerstone of the team in Europe.

When asked about the report, Rudy just laughed and said that he has not made contact with any European teams and he is a Portland Trail Blazer right now.

Rudy Fernandez had a great rookie season off the bench last year, but he has had issues with his role on the team this year and has reportedly been feeling lonely.

A reason for that is the trading away of fellow Spaniard Sergio Rodriguez. Most of Rudy's points in his rookie year were off Sergio's passes; when Sergio left so did Rudy's production.

He has openly said to the media that he will request to be traded if he doesn't have a bigger role on the team next year.
