Is LeBron James the New A-Rod?

So maybe that Yankees hat was more revealing than we thought.

LeBron James and the city of New York have been linked for years. He's pals with Jay-Z. He infamously wore a Yankees cap to a Yankees-Indians playoff game in 2007. And of course, for the last several years, ESPN has incessantly covered the King's impending free agency and the possibility that he might become a New York Knick in 2010.

We'll find out in two months where he decides to go, but in a way New York would be the most fitting destination, because at this point, there's a pretty solid case to be made that LeBron is basketball's Alex Rodriguez.

I'm not talking about performance-enhancing drugs, because nobody has ever brought up LeBron's name in that discussion. And to my knowledge he has no relationship with Madonna. But LeBron and A-Rod are indisputably two of the greatest individual talents ever to play their respective sports and they both have had highly-publicized issues with performing in the postseason.
