Introducing Raymond Felton

After all the recent talk about Chris Paul wanting out of New Orleans the Knicks addition of point guard Raymond Felton has been lost in the shuffle of one of the most dysfunctional NBA off seasons in history.  The former 5th pick in the NBA draft now entering his 5th season in the league offers the Knicks something they haven’t had during the Mike D’Antoni era, a point guard that is an actually threat.

Chris Duhon gets a bad rap for his time in New York but that fact remains Duhon did what you expected him to do.  Duhon is a serviceable backup point guard with a limited offensive game that was asked to play 30 plus minutes a night in an up tempo system and he just couldn’t handle that.

On the flip side Raymond Felton has played for three head coaches in his short NBA career all of which have stressed a ball control slow down tempo.  We all remember Larry Brown’s one year in New York and realize how tough he can be on point guards.  When last scene playing in a offense that suits his playing style Felton lead the 2005 Carolina Tar Heels to a NCAA cham ...
